Be Happy… It can be easy!
The media in America focuses on youth; even to the point of obsession. We’re bombarded with images that subtly, but powerfully, enter our consciousness. These images imply that the way to success, happiness, sexiness, you-name-it, is by being young.
Because most of us buy into this myth that “youth is king,” we all rush to cosmetics counters, gyms, and plastic surgeons to do whatever we can to remain young. But we can be ageless, no matter what our chronological age, and live lives of joy, passion, and purpose. The key is in how we perceive our lives.
It starts with a thought (and all the thoughts that follow!) Questions: Are you happy? (Not content, comfortable, or secure—happy?) Do you want to be happy?
Happiness cannot be bought, but it can be learned: Starting now repeat over and over again, “I choose to be happy.” Watch how that single sentence can simply, easily, and effortless (well, almost!) change the way you feel. Use it to refocus your mind on what you want. Most of us do want happiness, but we keep letting our brains gravitate toward the ugly, bad, or sad in our world. Focusing on those unhappy things will not change them. Focusing on the good in your life will change how you feel!
Repeat after me: “I choose to be happy!” Try it for a month—repeating this 100 times a day if you can.
